Youth Services
Therapeutic support can help families get through rough periods and keep their kids on track for healthy development. Sometimes pre-teens and teens need extra support around developmental transitions, family changes, or emotional challenges. All of these factors can influence their ability to navigate the social world and be successful in school. Individual and family therapy are available to help.
Clinical Supervision
I offer individual and group supervision for social workers hoping to strengthen their practice skills. I believe that the supervisory relationship needs to nurture in order to support professional growth. A wealth of clinical experience enables me to understand your social work setting and a variety of target populations.
My Approach
I often combine psychodynamic understanding with a practical problem-solving approach. This means that I guide clients to better understand themselves, their lives, and the root causes of their difficulties. At the same time, I collaborate with clients to find concrete strategies to improve daily life. This may include incorporating strategies from cognitive-behavioral therapy and mindfulness based practice.
I find that this combination of seeing things more clearly and trying new approaches can get people "unstuck." People can grow and flourish when given the right kind of support and tools.
